A modernized remake of the most successful cell phone of the year 2000: The Nokia 3310 3G's battery lasts for 27 days on standby, or 6:30h talking. Plus, this phone is bringing back the legendary game of Snake!

The Samsung SGH A777 is a reliable, popular slide phone that’s simple to use and doesn’t come with a whole lot of unnecessary extras. It’s very straightforward to place calls with, and it includes a basic music player. An alphanumeric keypad slides out from under the screen, making this phone quite compact when closed and preventing accidental pocket calling or texting.
Being a slide phone, the SGH A777 is sturdier than most flip phones, some of which are prone to break at the hinge over time if not handled carefully. While it isn’t rugged or waterproof, it should last years on end if you treat it adequately, making it a great option if you are looking for a simple phone for your kids.
Graphics are bright, and the phone comes with a 1.2MP camera that shoots decent photos. It doesn’t have a flash though. The keypad layout is quite classic and simple, and comes with a bright backlight. On the left-hand side you have a volume rocker and a proprietary headset jack/charger port. On the right-hand side there’s a SD card slot that will take up to 4GB of memory extension, a music player key, and a user-definable shortcut key.
Overall call quality is good. Apart from basic calling and texting, features include a vibration mode, speakerphone, multimedia messaging, voice recording, a calendar, task list, notepad, calculator, world clock, unit and currency converters, a timer, a stopwatch, and a tip calculator. A couple of games are installed as demo versions, namely: Diner Dash 2, Tetris, Guitar Hero III, and Ms. Pac-Man — full versions can be bought and downloaded from AT&T.
The SGH A777 isn’t being manufactured anymore, but this is one of those phones that last virtually forever (provided you don’t accidentally take it for a swim in the lake), so you should be fine buying a used version of this device. Be aware though that the A777’s battery doesn’t last quite as long as many other dumb phones’ batteries do.
